A video purporting to show that an Israeli woman who was being held captive in Gaza was killed by an Israeli airstrike has surfaced on a Hamas social media site.
The video, which lasts slightly more than a minute, was posted on the Al Qassam Brigades’ Telegram channel on Monday night. The account is run by Hamas’ military arm.
The woman’s family is aware of the existence of the video, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The woman is seen reciting a brief statement into the camera for the majority of the footage. She provides information on her hometown, her Israeli ID, and her parents.
Her stated age is 19.
The video then cuts to an image of what looks to be the woman’s body after claiming that she was killed on November 9 in an Israeli attack.
The IDF announced in a brief statement late on Monday that an army representative had gone to the family’s residence to let them know about the video.
The statement from the IDF stated that “Hamas continues to use psychological terror and acts inhumanely, through videos and photos of the hostages, as it has done in the past.”
